MPG Glossary of Ingredients:  Information on ingredients is based on years of experience by professional colleagues, doctors, herbal healers, drug-free practiners, scientists and research conducted throughout the world, with extensive review of scientific literature and new clinical discoveries. Listed information is solely intended to be used for educational purposes only and is not intended as a basis for diagnosis, treatment, or to cure any disease. No medical claims, systemic administration claims are made, nor implied for the use of any listed ingredients or products. These statements have not been evaluated by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Deionized Purified Water: also known as demineralized water / DM water[2] (DI water, DIW or de-ionized water), is water that has had its mineral ions removed, such as catinos like sodium, calcium, iron, and copper, and anions such as chloride and sulfate.

Diindolylmethane (DIM): This broccoli extract is also known as DIM.  Broccoli extracts are used to control and reduce estrogen.  Considered the most effective broccoli extract for estrogen metabolism, DIM promotes 'good' estrogen known as 2- hydroxyestrone and inhibits 'bad' estrogen known as 16-alphahydroxyestrone. Studies indicate that this 'bad' estrogen, also known as 16a-hydroxyestrone, promotes and causes cancer.  Men require much smaller amounts of the 'good' 2-hydroxyestrone estrogen than do women. It is also used to prevent an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hypertrophy, BPH).

Chihuahuas: (Amazon Rainforest Herbal Discovery) Chuchuhuasi is commonly used for its effects on symptoms of arthritis and rheumatism and for back pain. It is a muscle relaxant and is thus effective at relieving sore muscles. Extracts show analgesic properties as well as anti-inflammatory activity. It inhibits production of the enzyme protein kinase C (PKC), which is indicated in the development of health problems including arthritis. Chuchuhuasi shows anti-diarrheal effects, and is also used for stomach aches, upset stomach, and hemorrhoids. Natives use chuchuhuasi for bronchitis and asthma, because of its anti-inflammatory effects. Some of the substances in chuchuhuasi have demonstrated anti-tumor activity, and a decoction is used as a tonic for the immune system. It can increase the ability of immune cells to attack bacteria and other invading organisms.

DHEA: (dehydroepiandrosterone) DHEA is a hormone that is produced primarily by the adrenal glands and is found naturally in the human body.  It is an important base from which other key substances, including the hormones testosterone, progesterone, and corticosterone, can be derived, either directly or indirectly.  The amount of DHEA produced by the body declines with age, particularly after age forty. Research indicates that taking DHEA supplements may help to prevent cancer, arterial disease, multiple sclerosis, and Alzheimer’s disease; may be beneficial in the treatment of lupus and osteoporosis; may enhance the activity of the immune system; and may help to improve memory.

GABA: for relieving anxiety, improving mood, and treating attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It is also used for promoting lean muscle growth, burning fat, stabilizing blood pressure, and relieving pain. GABA is used for increasing the sense of well-being, relieving injuries, improving exercise tolerance, decreasing body fat, and increasing lean body weight.

Saw Palmetto Extract: is used for chronic pelvic pain, bladder disorders, decreased sex drive, hair loss, and hormone imbalances. Acts as a diuretic, urinary antiseptic, and appetite stimulant. Inhibits production of dihydrotestosterone, a form of testosterone that contributes to enlargement of the prostate.  Shown to improve lower urinary tract symptoms in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia. May also enhance sexual functioning and sexual desire. Has been used to treat prostate enlargement and inflammation, painful ejaculation, difficult urination, and enuresis (the inability to control urination). It reduces prostatic enlargement by reducing the amount of hormonal stimulation of the prostate gland.

Epimedium Grandiflorum (Horny Goat Weed) Extract: This Chinese herb is also known as Horny Goat Weed. It has androgenic effects that increase sexual desire and improve sexual performance. It is known for stimulating cerebral and peripheral circulation and helping to dilate coronary vessels, thereby increasing blood flow by reducing vascular resistance. It has been used for centuries for kidney cleanse and support and as a male sexual tonic. Dr. Charles Mesko is recognized by the health food industry for introducing the many benefits of epimedium to American health food stores and consumers.

Ginkgo Biloba Extract: has been used for improving blood flow, for improving memory/concentration due to certain brain problems. Ginkgo Biloba is an herb with powerful antioxidant effects in the brain, retina, and cardiovascular system.  It is well known for its ability to enhance circulation, and a study reported in the Hournal of the American Medical Association showed that it has a measurable effect on dementia in people with Alzheimer’s disease and people recovering from strokes.  Other studies indicate that it can improve both long-and short-term memory and enhance concentration. Ginkgo Biloba has also been used to treat hearing problems, impotence, and macular degeneration.  Improves brain functioning by increasing cerebral and peripheral increasing cerebral and peripheral circulation and tissue oxygenation.  Has an antioxidant property.  May slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease, and may relieve leg cramps by improving circulation.  Beneficial for asthma, dementia, depression, eczema, headaches, heart and kidney disorders, memory loss, and tinnitus (ringing in the ears).  Shows promise as a treatment for vascular-related impotence.

Aloe Vera: It is said that aloe vera plants are packed full of healing extracts, including vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, enzymes, and amino acids. The gel is filled with a plethora of aloe vera skin benefits, such as anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-inflammatory, giving it soothing and moisturizing properties that defend against harmful toxins that can destroy the delicate skin of the face.  Aloe Vera is commonly known as a skin healer, moisturizer, and softener.  It is dramatically effective on burns of all types, and is also good for cuts, insect stings, bruises, acne, and blemishes, poison ivy, welts, skin ulcers, and eczema.

Acts as an astringent, emollient, antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral.  Applied topically, heals mouth sores and stimulates cell regeneration. It supports a healthy digestive system probably by increasing short-chain fatty acid production from the friendly bacteria in the colon if ingested.

Safflower Oil: Is a Polyunsaturated fat and may help to lower cholesterol and decrease platelet aggregation, thus reducing the risk of heart disease.  (Possibly effective for) blood circulation, and strengthens the immune system.

Almond Oil: Some people apply sweet almond directly to the skin to soften chapped skin, to soothe mucous membranes, and to kill germs.

Avocado Oil: Anti-ageing skin care oil that helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, to keep skin firm and youthful for longer.

Lecithin:  Is a type of lipid that is needed by every living cell in the human body.  Cell membranes, which regulate the passage of nutrients into and out of the cells, are largely composed of lecithin.  The protective sheaths surrounding the brain are composed of lecithin, and the muscles and nerve cells also contain this essential fatty substance. Lecithin consists mostly of the B vitamin choline, and also contains linoleic acid and inositol.  Acts as an emulsifying agent.  Helps to prevent arteriosclerosis, protects against cardiovascular disease, improves brain function, and aids in the absorption of thiamine by the liver and vitamin A by the intestine.  It is also known to promote energy and is needed to help repair damage to the liver caused by alcoholism.  Lecithin enables fats, such as cholesterol and other lipids, to be dispersed in water and removed from the body.  The vital organs and arteries are thus protected from fatty buildup.

Rheosol: An emulsion is a two-phase system. The principal components are an oil phase and an aqueous (water) phase. The aqueous phase is water plus any combination of polar materials that dissolve, at least to some extent, in water. The oil phase comprises one or more oily materials, or other ingredients which are non-polar and exhibit at least some solubility in oily materials. The conventional way of forming a cosmetic emulsion is to heat the two phases separately then bring them together with vigorous mixing and continue mixing until cool. To stop the emulsion separating one or more emulsifiers are incorporated in the composition. Acrylate or polyacrylate polymers are supplied pre-dispersed in oils or esters to which the aqueous phase can be added with rapid stirring.

Iporuru: (Amazon Rainforest Herbal Discovery) is a plant. The bark, leaves, and root are used to make medicine. People take iporuru for painful conditions including joint and muscle pain (rheumatism), headache, and toothache. Some people take iporuru to treat coughs and swollen airways (bronchitis) or to stimulate digestion. Men take iporuru for erectile dysfunction (ED, impotence). Iporuru is also used for lowering blood sugar levels in people with diabetes, and water retention. Some people use it to increase sexual desire (as an aphrodisiac).

Mucuna Pruriens: This rare herb from India has been successfully used for 1000s of years in Ayurvedic Medicine (originating in India, the oldest recorded form of medicine in the world). It contains the world's most widely researched amino acid, L-dopa. Over 250,000 worldwide research papers on L-dopa have been written. For the past 35 years L-dopa in prescription form has been the world's leading drug used to treat the dreaded dopamine deficiency known as Parkinson’s disease.  L-dopa converts into the vital brain neurotransmitter dopamine which is required to transfer information from neuron to neuron. Dopamine controls the release of growth hormone needed by adults to repair and rejuvenate aging cells and regulates over 200 body functions including motor control, restful sleep, energy levels, sex drive, cholesterol and tolerance to pain. As we age, a decline in dopamine production hinders the hypothalamic/pituitary axis to properly stimulate the production of needed hormones, including growth hormone.  Reduced levels of growth hormone weaken and negatively impact chromosomal microscopic telomeres*, thus leaving the body vulnerable at the cellular level. Reduced levels of growth hormone negatively impact insulin. Increased levels of growth hormone prompt insulin to be efficiently utilized by the lean muscle cells, organs, bones and skin, while studies show insulin (when growth hormone levels are low) to be readily absorbed by fat cells causing fat accumulation.  L-dopa also inhibits the release of the female hormone prolactin which, in pregnant women, stimulates healthy milk production.  However, in men, prolactin has no known beneficial function. Prolactin is estimated to be responsible for 80% of male erection problems and can stimulate secondary female physical characteristics such as gynecomastia (fatty deposits around male breast tissue commonly referred to as 'man boobs'). L-dopa has proven effective at aiding women afflicted with anorgasmia (the inability to reach orgasm). When Mucuna Pruriens is taken orally, the widely beneficial contained L-dopa is destroyed by stomach acids. This problem was solved by Dr. Charles Mesko who was awarded a U.S. Patent. Dr. Mesko invented an Herbal Growth Hormone available without a prescription.  It features a special coating to protect the Mucuna Pruriens and contained L-dopa from destructive stomach acid. Another Indian herb, Tribulis Terrestris, was added to greatly extend the normally short life of L-dopa in the body. More information on Mucuna Pruriens can be found in the 3rd, 4th and 5th editions of the World’s Best Selling comprehensive guide for drug free remedies, “Prescription For Nutritional Healing” by Phyllis A. Balch CNC and James F. Balch, MD.

Tribulus Terrestris: Also known as Puncture Vine, is listed in Ayurveda texts from India (the oldest recorded form of medicine in the world dating back thousands of years), and was also widely used in ancient Greece. The benefits realized from Tribulus Terrestris vary depending on the region of the world it is grown, but most commonly is used by present-day healers for a variety of liver and kidney diseases and disorders. Tribulus Terrestris from India very effectively breaks down fats that inhibit healthy liver function, and is widely used for liver, kidney and cardiovascular support, promotes 'good' HDL cholesterol levels needed for healthy hormone production and has the unique ability to cause the body to retain L-dopa levels for extended periods of time.  (Mesko Patent # 6340474)  Tribulus Terrestris grown in Bulgaria, is used by natural healers to promote testosterone production, help sexual dysfunction and increase sperm count.

Chrysin: Chrysin: Often referred to as 'Flavone X', Chrysin is the natural plant bioflavonoid 5,7-dihydroxyflavone.  Chrysin, when directly injected directly into the body, has been clinically shown to be a very effective natural inhibitor of the conversion of testosterone into estrogen (aromatase).  Possessing excellent anti-inflammation and anti-oxidation properties, it is also able to stimulate and induce beneficial nitric oxide (NO) release from endothelial cells (thin layers of flat cells that line serous cavities, lymph vessels, and blood vessels). Nitric oxide release is required for male penis erections.  Chrysin is very poorly absorbed when ingested orally in pill, capsule or liquid form, and is quickly metabolized by the first pass through the liver. Clinical studies have shown no measurable positive activity levels after an oral dose has been filtered through the liver. Chrysin contained in topical creams and gels is generally well absorbed. Chrysin belongs to a class of chemicals called flavonoids. It occurs naturally in plants such as the passionflower, silver linden, and some geranium species; and in honey and bee propolis (glue).  The natural plant bioflavonoid chrysin is recommended by herbal healers and drug free practitioners for inhibiting excess estrogen, increasing the release of nitric oxide (NO), reducing inflammation, for treating anxiety, gout, HIV/AIDS, erectile dysfunction (ED), and baldness, and for helping to prevent cancer.
